The next international song contest “Eurovision 2022” ended in Turin, Italy.

25 countries-participants reached the Grand Final: 10 from the two semi-finals, as well as the “Big Five” – the founding countries of the competition.

During the performances two violations of the rules of the contest on non-politicization of the contest were discovered at once. The overall favorite, the Ukrainian band Kalush Orchestra, after performing the song Stefania, still made a political appeal: “Save Mariupol, Azovstal! Do it!”. Later the Icelandic quartet Systur came on stage with Ukrainian flag stickers on their guitars. The wait for the disqualification decision ended with the decision of the organizers not to disqualify both participants with political statements.

“We understand the deep feelings around Ukraine at this time and believe that the statements of Kalush Orchestra and other performers expressing support for the Ukrainian people are humanitarian and not political,” the contest organizers reported.
Among the professional jury 12 points gave Ukraine only Poland, Moldova, Latvia, Romania and Lithuania. After the jury’s vote Ukraine was only on the 4th place.

But everything changed by the spectator vote. The audience gave an incredible 439 points to the Ukrainian artists. By comparison, the Swedish audience gave only 180 points.

Thus, the Ukrainian band Kalush Orchestra won this Eurovision contest with 631 points.

In second place is a favorite of the pro British singer Sam Ryder with 466 points, while the third – the Spanish singer Chanel.

After all the participants, the stage was taken by the Italian group Måneskin with the new song Supermodel, as it was the winner of last year’s “Eurovision”.

The contestants and the audience were greeted from outer space by an astronaut, and a set of his hits was performed by singer Mika. In the final of the show the Ukrainian band Kalush Orchestra, the winner of the contest, again sang the winning song Stefania.
